Database Administrator
Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project:
Creates, supports, and administers Oracle relational databases. Performs hands-on administration of databases, related tools, processes and operations in large oltp and batch environments.
Recommends solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and required data security and data backup/recovery specifications. Ensures proper design, implementation, performance, availability, security, auditing and capacity management of related database systems. Is able to function independently with minimal oversight and direction. 
May instruct and guide lower level technical professionals. Assignments are broad in nature and complex in scope.
Internal/External Groups with which the Candidate will interface: Batch Operations, IT-Network Operations, IT QA and Dev Teams, Data Modelers, Enterprise Performance Team, Lifecycle Management, Source Control Release Teams

1. Oracle Database Administration Skills
Oracle RAC and Golden Gate
1. Experience in working on Oracle Databases in both Development and  Production environments
2. Analytical/Troubleshooting Skills for Database Problems 2. Ability to resolve Oracle database problems independently. Familiarity with best practices for operational database support.
3. Adherence to Change Control and Incident Management process 3. Experience with IT standard processes for Incident Management, Change Control and SDLC
4. PL/SQL skills, Unix skills 4. PL/SQL experience, experience in working with DDL with development teams.  Unix scripting is a plus.
5. Database Performance Troubleshooting Skills 5. Experience in resolving database performance problems using OEM, AWR and other Oracle tools.
Disqualifiers or Dislikes on Resumes: A lot of certifications or education with little practical work experience
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Required Testing: No
Software Skills Required: Oracle Database Administration, PL/SQL
Required Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), nice to have but not mandatory
